Domestic & Sexual Abuse Services (DASAS) is dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault in SW Michigan. Having served victims and their families for more than 20 years in Cass and St. Joseph counties, its philosophy clearly states its commitment to the survivors of assault.

The agency provides information, resources and advocacy for survivors. It is also committed to improving the community's system response to domestic violence and sexual assault by focusing on enhanced protection, empowerment and support for survivors and their children, and an increased accountability for abusers.

Dowagiac Area History Museum

The Dowagiac Area History Museum, located in downtown Dowagiac, is an interactive adventure in local history.  The museum features 4,000 square feet of exhibits, highlighting Dowagiac, Cass County and Sister lakes. Interactive components make it a destination for visitors of all ages.

The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturdays until 2 p.m. Admission is always free!

Dowagiac Connected is a dedicated group of citizens and supporters committed to strengthening connections among those who live, work, and play in our community. Their mission centers on fostering community ties and driving meaningful improvements. Guided by their core values, they advocate for tangible enhancements, promote social engagement, and cultivate relationships that energize their efforts to support Dowagiac.

Dowagiac District Library

The Dowagiac District Library provides a welcoming and safe environment in our community for all people to learn, explore, create and interact.  The library provides access to ideas, information, experiences and resources for life-long learning.  While you can find more than 30,000 books at the Dowagiac District Library, you can also find movies, newspapers, public computers, wi-fi, special events and more.  All services are free of charge.

Dowagiac Elks Lodge # 889

If you'd like to enjoy the best view in town, while dining out this weekend, the Dowagiac Elks Lodge is your answer. The lodge features Friday night dinners, a nine-hole golf course, golf outings and banquet facilities that can accommodate up to 250 people. Dowagiac Masonic Temple Association

Peninsular Lodge No. 10, a Masonic fraternal organization, continues the long history of Freemasonry in Dowagiac. A Masonic lodge was established in this city in 1855 and has been active in the community since that time. The lodge is located in the Masonic Center in the heart of beautiful downtown Dowagiac, a location it has occupied since 1936.

Lodge business meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m.

In addition to its fraternal activities, the lodge is active in the community in the following ways: organizing Dowagiac's annual Memorial Day Parade and remembrance; providing scholarships for high school and college students; co-sponsoring two annaul Red Cross blood drives and maintaining a nature trail at an elementary school.

First United Methodist Church

First United Methodist Church is a welcoming congregation that has been worshipping in the community of Dowagiac since 1859. The public is welcome to attend. Sunday services start at 9:25 a.m. with a nursery provided during worship.

Located within the historic Dowagiac train depot, Whistlestop Gifts is operated by the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce.  The boutique specializes in modern-day memorabilia of Dowagiac, featuring specialty crewnecks, hoodies, photo and artisan notecards, and coffee mugs.  The boutique also carries books on both Dowagiac and Sister Lakes.
