    Dowagiac Christmas Celebration Returns!

    Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus and he's heading back to downtown Dowagiac, along with Mrs. Claus and a holiday showcase of local youth!

    After a year's absence due to the pandemic, planning is under way for Christmas Open House Weekend, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12 and 13, the Candle-light Christmas Parade that returns to Front Street on Friday, Dec. 3; and Breakfast with Santa that is co-hosted in December by Dowagiac Elks.

    This is a Milestone Worth Celebrating!

    Look who just turned 135!

    On September 28 Mennel Milling marked its 135th anniversary.

    It all began more than a century ago, when The Isaac Harter Milling Company was established in 1886 in Fostoria, Ohio. At the time, the Fostoria Flour Mill was the largest flour mill in the country not located on water.
