Owner Laura Odenwald has eight years of professional experience in four major industry sectors: healthcare, higher education, nonprofits, and government and political campaigns. Most recently, she led the digital marketing efforts for LSU’s College of Engineering, the largest academic college in the state. Laura earned her B.A. in Mass Communication from LSU in 2010, a Certificate of Web Design from LSU Continuing Education in 2016, and is a member of various professional organizations, including the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the American Marketing Association (AMA).

    The Baker's Rhapsody Wins Chili Crawl

    Winning Saturday’s Chili Crawl with 98 votes was Jordan Anderson of The Baker’s Rhapsody with his Spicy Southwest Chili, complete with cilantro & lime crème fraiche, and eight different kinds of chili peppers. The Baker’s Rhapsody served more than 550 two-ounce samples during Ice Time. Second place went to Wood Fire at 92, with Wounded Minnow & Round Oak Revisited tied for third.

    Advertising is being sold in the Dowagiac & Sister Lakes Business & Events Brochure, which will be published this spring.  

    The annual publication that was redesigned in 2018, markets the community to day-visitors and also features a list of Chamber members and a quick reference of community events.

    2019 Motto "Members First"

    When doing business in the community, Chamber President Kim MacGregor of Edward Jones has asked the Board of Directors, staff and now Chamber members to adopt “Members First” as their motto for 2019.

    "I am so excited with our new focus,” MacGregor said. “This is a focus we should have and, honestly, for the most part, have been using. However, by naming it and putting a focus on it, this forces us to look at our members first even for something as simple as ordering a pizza for lunch.”
