Odenwald Strategies LLC provides public relations consulting to produce direction, order and results with lasting impact for nonprofits and small businesses in southwest Michigan. Owner Laura Odenwald emphasizes excellence, efficiency and value, working with clients one-on-one to provide customized and focused solutions. Prior to starting her business, Laura built a public relations resume working in four major industry sectors: healthcare, higher education, nonprofits, and government and political campaigns. Most recently, she led the digital marketing and branding efforts for LSU’s College of Engineering, the largest academic college in the state. Laura earned a B.A. in Mass Communication from LSU in 2010, a Certificate of Web Design from LSU Continuing Education in 2016, and her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 2018, an internationally recognized professional designation that fewer than two percent of PR professionals possess.

    MIOSHA Relaxes COVID Workplace Rules

    The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration filed a new set of coronavirus emergency guidelines to align with the federal OSHA's rules, which would make mandatory rules, including mask wearing, applicable only to some health care workplaces.

    Based upon the June 22 action, the emergency rules issued by MIOSHA on May 24, are rescinded. With the change, non-health care employers are no longer required to keep mask wearing, daily health screenings and distancing measures in place.

    Zena Burns and Richard Jackson, owners of Dowagiac's first airbnb, the 1870 House, will host the return of the Chamber's Business After Hours on Tuesday, July 20.
     
    "After a year's absence, we are excited to gather Chamber members for an evening of great conversation and networking, while also gathering in great style, as Zena and Richard graciously open 1870 House to us," said Vickie Phillipson, Chamber of Commerce program director.
